Wedding Fayres can be very daunting but don't let that put you off!
I have been to over 15 in the last 12 months and have managed to book many of my arrangements through them.
I can remember the first one I went to. My hubby to be came along with me along with my parents and his parents. It was a relatively small one but I found it all very overwhelming! People were coming up to me and spoke about their company handing my leaflets as I walked past. As I had no idea of what I was after as it was very shortly after my engagement, I could not take it all in. Luckily I had the support from my 'Wedding Party' and we found out a lot of information, even just on that occasion!
Taking people with you that will have an active party in your wedding arrangements will allow you to have conversations with potential bookings to be lot easier. My dad had specific question he wanted to ask the DJ and photographer; ones I didn't even think of. By him asking them, allowed me to think of further questions I then had.
Normally there is more than one of each 'subject' at a wedding fayre. For example, one fayre I attended had 3 photographers. My advice would be to speak to all of them and take their details. They normally allow you to book a private appointment with them to have a look at more of their work and discuss your day, at a no obligation to book understanding. Take advantage of these and get the quotes before you book anything.
By going to lots of fayres and having a look around I managed to book appointments with bridal shops, venues and cake makers. Special Offers can be offered to you by doing this and can be a very good way of saving some of those sacred pounds!
I would recommmend visiting several wedding fayres and researching prices before booking anything. If you have something in mind that you particularly want eg. specific bunches of flowers, entertainment, make up artist etc; research before you go! There is normally a list available on line before the fayre day stating the stalls that will be there. This can give you an idea of what you my want to go and specifically look at at that particular time.
There will always be a BIG wedding fayre in your local area. These are well worth going to and include a wider variety of stalls that may benefit you. Bridal shops, chair covers, table centerpieces, jewellery stands, wedding gift lists and stationery are a few that can have a good deal on especially for that day.
There are always adverts around the towns, in bridal magazines and in local newspapers that can inform you of when they are going on. Friends can also be a good information source. Use them and ask them to keep their eyes out for any information. I have texts galore from my friends informing me of events locally.
At some wedding fayres you have to register your details. By doing this you receive a goody bag with details and samples in. Over time you will also receive futher special offers companies want to offer you either by post or by text. It's well worth doin it and can also be a good money saver
